From the slopes of Ethiopian highlands to your morning cup, we bring you organic coffee that tastes as good as the story behind it.
Back in 2016, our founders travelled to Ethiopia on what was meant to be a holiday. While visiting a small village near the town of Jimma, they were invited to a traditional coffee ceremony. The beans were roasted over charcoal in a flat pan, ground by hand in a wooden mortar, and brewed slowly in a jebena. That single cup changed everything.
The coffee was unlike anything available on British supermarket shelves. It was vibrant, complex, and bursting with natural sweetness. More than that, it was grown organically by families who had tended their coffee trees for generations, working in harmony with the forest canopy that shaded their crops.
That experience planted a seed. Within a year, what started as a conversation around a kitchen table in Essex had grown into a small-batch roastery with a clear purpose: to bring genuinely exceptional organic coffee to homes across the United Kingdom, while ensuring the people who grew it received a fair and honest price for their labour.
These principles guide every decision we make, from the farms we partner with to the way we pack your order.
Every coffee in our range is certified organic. We believe that coffee grown without synthetic chemicals tastes better, supports healthier ecosystems, and protects the wellbeing of farming communities. Organic is not a marketing label for us; it is the foundation of everything we do.
We pay prices that reflect the true cost of producing exceptional coffee. Our direct trade relationships ensure transparency and fairness throughout the supply chain. We visit our partner farms regularly, building trust through long-term commitment rather than one-off transactions.
We cup and score every lot before purchasing. Our head roaster profiles each coffee individually, adjusting temperature curves and development times to bring out the very best characteristics of every origin. We never cut corners on quality, period.
From compostable packaging and recycled shipping materials to carbon-offset deliveries, we are constantly working to reduce our environmental footprint. We believe a great cup of coffee should leave the smallest possible mark on the planet.
We do not buy coffee through commodity exchanges or anonymous brokers. Instead, we work directly with farming cooperatives in Ethiopia, Colombia, Guatemala, Rwanda, Peru, and Sumatra. We know the people who grow our coffee by name. We visit their farms, share meals with their families, and discuss plans for the coming harvest season.
This approach benefits everyone. Farmers receive a predictable, above-market price that allows them to invest in their land, educate their children, and plan for the future. We receive access to the finest organic lots available, often reserved exclusively for partners who demonstrate genuine commitment.
Traceability matters to us. Every bag we sell can be traced back to the specific cooperative, region, and processing station that produced it. When you read "Ethiopian Yirgacheffe" on our label, it came from a specific group of families in the Gedeo Zone who have been growing coffee for generations. That level of transparency is something we take great pride in.

Our roastery sits in the heart of Essex, equipped with a Probat UG22 drum roaster that allows us to control every variable during the roasting process. We roast in batches of no more than 22 kilograms, which gives our head roaster the precision needed to develop each coffee's full potential.
Before a coffee enters our range, it goes through an extensive profiling process. Our roaster will typically test eight to twelve different roast profiles for a single lot, adjusting charge temperature, airflow, rate of rise, and development time until the flavour is exactly where it needs to be. Each profile is cupped blind by our tasting panel, scored against Speciality Coffee Association standards, and only approved if it meets our benchmarks for sweetness, acidity, body, and balance.
We roast to order wherever possible, which means your coffee is typically roasted within 24 to 48 hours of being dispatched. Every bag is printed with the exact roast date, so you always know precisely how fresh your coffee is. This level of care makes a genuine difference in the cup, and it is something we refuse to compromise on.
We recognise that the coffee industry has a significant environmental footprint. Here is what we are doing to reduce ours.
Our coffee bags are made entirely from plant-based, home-compostable materials. The inner lining, outer layer, and one-way valve are all designed to break down naturally in your compost bin within 12 weeks. No plastic, no landfill waste.
Every parcel we ship is carbon-offset through verified reforestation projects. We work with our delivery partners to track emissions and invest in tree planting initiatives in coffee-growing regions, creating a positive loop that supports the communities we source from.
Our shipping boxes are made from 100% recycled cardboard. We use paper-based tape and recycled tissue paper for void fill. Our labels are printed with vegetable-based inks. We are always looking for new ways to eliminate unnecessary waste from our operations.
Many of our partner farms use eco-pulping equipment that reduces water consumption during coffee processing by up to 80%. Where possible, we prioritise natural and honey-processed coffees that require significantly less water than traditional washed methods.
Our roastery runs on a 100% renewable energy tariff. Solar panels on our warehouse roof generate a portion of our electricity needs, and we are currently exploring options to further reduce our reliance on grid power through battery storage systems.
All of our organic coffees are grown under shade canopies, which preserve biodiversity, provide habitats for native bird species, and protect soil health. Shade-grown coffee develops more slowly, producing denser, more flavourful beans with greater complexity.
