Some of our seasonal and limited edition coffees are available in 250g only, owing to the small quantities we source. All sizes are clearly marked on each product page along with the per-kilogram price for easy comparison.

Absolutely. We offer whole bean and six grind options: extra fine (Turkish), fine (espresso), medium-fine (AeroPress and Moka pot), medium (pour-over and drip), medium-coarse (Chemex), and coarse (French press and cold brew). If you are unsure which to choose, our product pages include a grind guide for each coffee, or you are welcome to get in touch and we will be happy to recommend the right setting for your brewer. We always recommend buying whole bean and grinding fresh at home for the best possible flavour, but we understand that not everyone has a grinder to hand.

We roast your coffee to order. That means your beans are typically roasted within 24 to 48 hours of dispatch. Every bag is stamped with the exact roast date so you can see for yourself. For the best flavour, we recommend allowing the coffee to rest for five to seven days after roasting before brewing. This brief resting period lets carbon dioxide from the roasting process dissipate, which helps produce a more even extraction and cleaner cup. That said, many of our customers enjoy it straight away and find the results wonderful.

Yes, all prices displayed on our website include VAT where applicable. The price you see on the product page and at checkout is the total amount you pay, with no hidden surcharges. Delivery charges are shown separately and are clearly displayed before you complete your order. Yes, every coffee we sell carries organic certification through the Soil Association, which is the UK's leading organic certification body. Our suppliers are also certified by their respective national organic authorities. This means the coffee is grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fertilisers, and the entire supply chain is regularly audited to maintain standards. We hold our own Soil Association processor/packer licence, which means our roastery operations are inspected annually to verify that organic integrity is maintained from green bean intake through to final packaging.

We work directly with farming cooperatives and smallholder groups in several renowned coffee-growing regions. Our current origins include Ethiopia (Yirgacheffe and Sidamo), Colombia (Huila and Nariño), Guatemala (Antigua and Huehuetenango), Kenya (Nyeri and Kirinyaga), Rwanda (Nyungwe), Sumatra (Mandheling), and Peru (Cajamarca). We visit these communities regularly to cup new harvests, verify growing conditions, and strengthen our relationships with the producers. Each product page lists the specific origin, farm or cooperative name, altitude, and processing method so you know exactly where your coffee comes from.

Direct trade means we buy our green coffee directly from the farmers and cooperatives who grow it, rather than going through multiple intermediaries. This gives us greater visibility over quality and growing practices, and it ensures that a larger portion of the price you pay reaches the people doing the hard work of cultivation and harvesting. On average, we pay 40 to 60 percent above the commodity market price for our green coffee. We also invest in long-term relationships, committing to buy from the same producers year after year, which provides them with financial stability and the confidence to invest in their farms and communities.

Yes. Our coffee bags are made from plant-based materials, specifically a combination of kraft paper and a PLA (polylactic acid) inner lining derived from corn starch. They are certified home compostable under the EN 13432 standard. Simply tear them up and add them to your home compost bin or garden waste collection. The one-way degassing valve is also compostable. Our shipping boxes are made from 100% recycled cardboard, and we use paper-based tape and recycled tissue paper as void fill. We are constantly evaluating new materials to further reduce our environmental footprint.

Choose your coffee (or let us surprise you with our rotating selection), pick your delivery frequency (weekly, fortnightly, or monthly), and we handle the rest. You can pause, skip, swap coffees, or cancel at any time from your account dashboard. Subscription customers save 15% compared to one-off prices, and delivery is always free regardless of order value. There are no minimum commitments, no hidden charges, and no cancellation fees. Your subscription card is charged automatically a few days before each dispatch, and you receive an email notification in advance so you always know when your next delivery is coming.

Yes, you have full control. Log in to your account and visit the Subscriptions section. From there you can swap your coffee to any other product in our range, change your grind size, adjust the delivery frequency, change the bag size, or update your delivery address. Changes made at least 48 hours before your next scheduled dispatch will apply to that delivery. If you need help making changes, our team is available by email or phone and can update your subscription on your behalf.

The Discovery Box is our curated subscription option designed for adventurous coffee drinkers. Each month, our roasting team selects three different 250g coffees from our range, including at least one seasonal or limited edition lot. Every box comes with tasting cards that describe the origin, processing method, flavour notes, and recommended brewing parameters. It is a brilliant way to explore new coffees without the guesswork. The Discovery Box is priced at £24.99 per month (a 15% saving compared to purchasing the same coffees individually) and includes free delivery.

Absolutely. We offer pre-paid gift subscriptions in three, six, and twelve-month options. You choose the coffee, grind size, and frequency, and we deliver directly to the recipient with a personalised gift message included in the first shipment. Gift subscriptions do not auto-renew. Once the pre-paid period ends, the recipient receives an email inviting them to continue with their own subscription at the standard rate, though there is no obligation whatsoever. Gift subscriptions make a thoughtful present for birthdays, Christmas, or simply as a generous gesture for someone who appreciates great coffee.

We offer two delivery services for mainland UK orders:

Orders placed before 2pm Monday to Friday are dispatched the same day. For Northern Ireland and the Scottish Highlands, delivery may take an additional working day. Subscription deliveries are always free regardless of order value. You will receive a tracking number by email as soon as your order ships.

We offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. If you are not completely happy with your coffee, contact us within 30 days of delivery and we will either replace it with a different coffee or issue a full refund, no questions asked. For sealed, unopened bags, we accept returns within 14 days for a full refund. If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, we will resend the correct items or refund you immediately. At present, we deliver to addresses throughout the United Kingdom, including Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands, the Isle of Man, and the Channel Islands. A few general principles make a big difference regardless of your brewing method:

• Water temperature: Use freshly boiled water that has cooled for about 30 seconds, reaching approximately 92 to 96 degrees Celsius. Boiling water can scorch the grounds and produce bitter flavours.
• Ratio: Aim for roughly 1:16 coffee to water. That is about 15 grams of coffee per 250ml of water. Adjust to taste.
• Grind fresh: If you have a grinder, grind your beans immediately before brewing. Pre-ground coffee loses aromatic compounds quickly.
• Water quality: Use filtered water if your tap water is heavily chlorinated or very hard. The minerals in water affect extraction and flavour significantly.

Each of our product pages includes specific brewing suggestions tailored to that particular coffee, including recommended brew methods, dose, and extraction time.

Store your coffee in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and moisture. Our bags feature a resealable zip closure and a one-way degassing valve, which makes them excellent storage containers on their own. Simply squeeze out excess air before resealing. If you prefer to transfer your coffee to another container, use an opaque, airtight canister. Avoid storing coffee in the fridge or freezer, as temperature fluctuations cause condensation that degrades flavour. Whole bean coffee stays at peak freshness for around four to six weeks after roasting; pre-ground coffee is best consumed within two to three weeks.

Tasting notes are flavour descriptors identified by our cupping team during quality assessment. They describe the natural characteristics inherent in the coffee, much like tasting notes on a wine label. For example, notes of "dark chocolate, cherry, and toasted almond" do not mean the coffee has been flavoured with those ingredients. Instead, these are aromatic and taste qualities that occur naturally as a result of the coffee's variety, growing conditions, processing method, and roast profile. They serve as a guide to help you choose coffees that suit your palate. Your personal perception may differ slightly depending on your brewing method, grind size, and water quality.

If you are just starting your speciality coffee journey, we recommend a cafetiere (French press) or an AeroPress. Both are affordable, simple to use, and produce a delicious cup without requiring advanced technique. A cafetiere is ideal for making two to four cups at once: use coarsely ground coffee, pour over hot water (just off the boil), stir gently, wait four minutes, and press. An AeroPress is brilliant for a single cup: it is fast, forgiving, and incredibly versatile. Both methods work beautifully with any of our coffees. As you develop your palate, you might enjoy exploring pour-over methods like the V60 or Chemex, which offer even more control over extraction and clarity of flavour.
